My Cake Story

Following my own wedding in 2008, I fell in love with Wedding Cakes!  I was living in California at the time and decided a career in cakes was my future.  I enrolled in Pastry School in San Francisco and took an apprenticeship at the wonderful Chez Panisse restaurant in Berkeley. But it was at my first job at a Patisserie where I found my feet.  I loved making the cakes and beautiful pastries everyday.  It was the best job ever!


Following a move back to the UK (and two children later), I launched Bauble Bakery in 2016, making cakes and biscuits from home while juggling young family life (which was fun and a bit nuts too).


In 2019 I joined Squires Kitchen International School as a Tutor.  I love teaching others how to bake and sharing buttercream techniques. The same year I changed the name of my business to Sarah Hunter Cake Design:  I love to design beautiful, bespoke cakes for memorable occasions.
